PRESIDENT’S CORNER:

As you are aware, the fishing season is upon us! It’s been great to see the participation in the tournaments but it would be even better to see more boats signed up! The BBQ’s by Chef Fuzzy have been getting rave reviews but as with most things, the work load is done by a few good souls. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could lend a helping hand, and/or, add a dessert, salad or side dish to the menu!

The Club’s annual Yard Sale was a great success. I’d like to thank Ed Kraemer for organizing it again this year and putting so much time and effort into it. Thank you too, for all of those who worked the sale, donated “stuff” to sell or donated money.

With the near completion of the 2nd Floor, I would like to personally thank some members for the extraordinary contributions to our club: Paul Rys for our new roof; Ed Longely for our incredible kitchen; Mike Lawrence for setting up our new web site and new audio video systems; Merna Alexander and Eldon Poole for donating the new leaderboard; Carl Ascoli, Tom Pitetti, the Leppings, Harborview and Jims’ Bait & Tackle for donations and advertising sponsorships that gave us High Definition & High Speed access to the superhighway; Tom Fols for all of the electrical work; Tom Pitetti’s brother-in-law, Rory Sherman for the new rug and Bobby Pacilli for being Bobby!

As always, tight lines and calm seas.

Please welcome NEW MEMBERS: Leonard Fennimore of Williamstown, NJ, Thomas Kilareski of Cape May,  Edward Mellon of Cape May,  Stan Yasik of Cape May, Jeffrey Hummel of Laurel Spring, NJ,  Lyle Rutty of Rosemont, PA,  Don Weems, MD of Cape May Beach, and Scott White of Cape May.

New PROPRIETARY MEMBER:: Tom Pitetti

SPECIAL NOTE: WEIGH SLIPS: There has recently been a change. We have extended the weigh in locations to accommodate boats that aren’t close to any of the current CMM&TC approved weigh stations. Because not all weigh stations have the CCM&TC slips, all fish being weighed must be weighed on a certified scale that abides by IGFA rules, with  the date, name of the marina and the signature of the weigh master clearly written on the marina slip. The catch and general information must then be transferred on to a Cape May Marlin & Tuna Club weigh slip, with the signed slip attached. Only completely filled out Cape May Marlin & Tuna Club slips will be accepted towards points or awards, without exception. CMM&TC slips are available at the club for those who would like to keep a few with them for convenience.

MEMBERSHIP NOTES:

· All guests must sign in (it’s the law) and be accompanied by a member in good standing at all times.  The sign in book is to the left of the entrance.

· We are currently accepting new members, ask a club member or the bartender for an application.

· The 2007 membership renewal window has closed. If you haven’t paid your 2007 dues, your membership is no longer active.

· All members and their guests are welcome to food and snacks whenever we have them. Your participation in tournaments and donations make this possible.

ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES: The club is promoting member businesses on our website and on the new LCD screen in the bar area. There are several different advertising sponsorships available that range from a listing in the online directory to full page ads that run in the club. If you are interested visit www.marlinandtuna.com/sponsorship.html or contact Michael Lawrence.

Please visit the club’s web site for the tournament schedule, current tournament results and any other up coming club events!  Please continue to send your pictures to Captain Ed Kraemer:
