PRESIDENT’S CORNER:

I’d like to extend a very special thank you to all of those who have included a donation to the building fund along with their annual dues. The renovations and repairs to the building have given the club a much needed sprucing up. We are looking forward to hosting an open house this spring to celebrate its’ completion and new look.

Also, a very special thank you to those who have included a donation to the scholarship fund along with their annual dues. Each year the club awards a $500.00 scholarship to a club member’s relative who is attending college and meets the criteria of the application requirements.

As it is my privilege to be President of this club, my gratitude is extended to the board members, committee chairman and to those who volunteer their time and efforts to support the BBQ’s and other club functions. Membership participation in club events in any capacity, is the heart beat of its’ success.

I’d like to wish you a very Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year with tight lines

FISHING REPORT

Stripers, Tog and Sea Bass are presently being caught by a few boats. Sea Bass have been rumored to be exceptionally large. Our president is in the process of getting tile fishing lessons which will hopefully, improve his chances of catching one! Believe it or not, he caught a blue fish in 600 feet of water while he was taking one of his lessons!

We are looking forward to another great fishing season and your participation in the upcoming tournaments. Don’t miss out on any of the fun or the sharing of fishing stories. The complete fishing tournament schedule for 2007 will be done soon and mailed to you with the next newsletter. The Ray Vandergrift Drum Fish Tournament is tentatively scheduled for May 12th. This is  your chance to beat the President  since he has won this tournament for the last 3 years!

Due to the highly skilled anglers and captains, 2006 was a great fishing season. On the back page are the Tournament and Club awards. Even though you will not see my name as any award winner, I’d like to congratulate all of those who did!

Call or email me with any questions or suggestions at  609-929-9034  or email.

MEMBERSHIP

There is currently room for more good people to become members of the club so please take some time this year to introduce the club to your friends that have an interest in fishing. Cape May is one of the top fishing ports in the country and we see our club as playing an increasing role in introducing the sport to new participants, promoting our role in the community and working to protect recreational fishing rights. A strong, active membership is important to these efforts.

Proprietary  Memberships are currently available but limited. If you are interested in a Proprietary Membership, please contact the club or e-mail us  for more information
